Oakley gears up to sell German cloud computing firm Contabo -sources

LONDON, April 12 (Reuters) – Private equity firm Oakley is looking to sell its majority stake in German cloud hosting platform Contabo as it seeks to capitalise on demand for cloud computing fuelled by the COVID-19 pandemic, two people familiar with the situation said.

The Munich-based company could be valued at between 700 million euros and 800 million euros ($762.6 million and $871.5 million ) as part of an auction process expected after the Easter break, those people said.

London-based advisory firm Arma Partners is handling the sale, which is mainly focusing on private equity bidders, one of the people said.

German court convicts eight over illegal "bulletproof" data center in former NATO bunker – DatacenterDynamics

A German court has convicted eight people who were involved in operating a data center at a former NATO bunker.

Among the illegal services allegedly hosted at the German data center were Cannabis Road, Fraudsters, Flugsvamp, Flight Vamp 2.0, orangechemicals, and the world’s second-largest narcotics marketplace, Wall Street Market.

A large-scale attack on Deutsche Telekom routers in November 2016 is also thought to have been controlled via servers hosted there.

The ‘CyberBunker’ facility in Traben-Trarbach, western Germany, was raided by more than 600 police officers in September 2019.

German city hosts photographic exhibition dedicated to Cuba – Prensa Latina

Arranged by the Cuba-Hilfe Dortmund solidarity group, the exhibition brings together works by German photographer Dietmar Sebastian Fischer and Cuban Antonio Hernandez, who coincided in Havana in 2019.

From the encounter between the two artists was born the idea of the exhibition, whose title refers to the kilometers that separate the two cities.

The head of Cuba’s diplomatic office in Bonn, Yamari Perez, thanked the organization of the exhibition, and acknowledged the support of the friendship group to the Cuban Revolution.
