Monograms Plus hosting ‘Girls Day Out’ this Saturday

CULLMAN, Ala. – Monograms Plus, a cornerstone in Cullman for gift giving and treating yourself, is celebrating its 24th year of business by hosting its annual “Girls Day Out” on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023.  

This year’s event will be similar to ones hosted in the past, loaded with discounts, games, VIP swag bags and even margaritas to toast. One small difference: the festivities will take place at the store’s new and larger storefront located at 802 Main Ave. NE. 

Monograms Plus Owner Lynsey Todd shared her excitement about hosting the event at the new location, saying that while Girls Day Out happens every year, this one is extra special due to the change in scenery.

Photograph of girls in white dresses does not show child brides

Thousands of people have shared a post that shows a photograph of what it implies are child brides. But the photograph does not show this. 

The Facebook reel, which has over 2,600 shares, has a split screen and overlaid text that says: “Pedophilia is legal in some countries [sic].” The top half of the post shows a photo of a line of girls in white dresses holding hands with older men. 

But the image of the little girls actually shows them attending the weddings of their older relatives, rather than being brides themselves.

Pittsfield quartet dedicated to Pope Francis girls hockey program in its sophomore season | Local Sports

With the foundation of an inaugural Pope Francis girls hockey season set in stone, a handful of local student-athletes are helping the Cardinals build a better tomorrow in the program’s sophomore season.
