CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Fearless Brown Girls, a nonprofit aimed to empower the next generation “to break barriers, shatter ceilings, and create brighter financial futures,” is hosting “Give 8/28 Day” on Wednesday.

August 28 marks a significant date in Black history, as several pivotal events occurred across generations on the same date.

In light of the upcoming day, the New Generation of African American Philanthropists (NGAAP) created “CLT Gives Black” to advocate for racial funding equity in the Charlotte community.

Ware Memorial Church of God In Christ (formerly Ware Temple COGIC) is hosting Impact Day, a special event dedicated to giving back to the community. On Saturday, June 29, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., the church will be hosting a free giveaway event featuring food, clothing, shoes, toiletries, household items, and housewares.
