Bedford VA hosting Women Veterans Health & Wellness Fair

BEDFORD — The Bedford Veterans Affairs Health Care System is hosting the Women Veterans’ Health & Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 10 at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Hospital to coincide with Women Veterans Day on June 12 and to highlight the PACT Act.

Bedford VA spokesperson Patrick Kirby said the fair is open for all veterans so that they can view health and wellness demonstrations, enroll in VA health care and get screenings for toxic exposure resulting from their service.

Recently appointed deputy secretary of the state Executive Office of Veterans Services, retired U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Andrea Gayle Bennett will also be the guest speaker at the fair, where she will talk about women veterans and self-care.

Norwood Public Schools to Host Parent Workshops During Mental Health Awareness Month

NORWOOD — Superintendent David Thomson is pleased to share that Norwood Public Schools will be hosting parent workshops throughout the month of May in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mental Health Awareness Month, observed in May, aims to bring awareness to the importance of mental health, fight stigma, provide support and advocate for policies that support millions affected by mental illness. 

All workshops will be offered to parents via Zoom and will start at 6:30 p.m. Zoom links will be shared via Parent Square.
