Historical museum to host exhibition dedicated to religious monuments of Silk Road
AKIPRESS.COM – The National Historical Museum will host a presentation dedicated to religious monuments of the Silk Road in Kyrgyzstan, related to the transfer of the 8th century Buddha statue, on June 8.
Archaeologists from the Hermitage and the Institute of History and Cultural Heritage of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic carried out excavations at three sites of Navekat ancient city in Chui region in 2011, the museum reported. Excavations were carried out near the fortress wall of the central ruins, in a city necropolis and a Buddhist temple.
