Alex Trebek fans petition to see ‘Jeopardy!’ stage dedicated to the late host

Alex Trebek‘s fans have come up with a suggestion for cementing his legacy.

An online petition has been created lobbying for the “Jeopardy!” stage to be dedicated to the late icon, who had hosted the iconic game show since 1984. Trebek died in November at 80 after battling cancer.

The petition specifically names Sony, CBS and “Jeopardy!” in its call-to-action.

“On November 8, 2020, George Alexander Trebek passed away at the age of 80 after an 18 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Sammamish company says it has no plans to host Parler

Rumors abounded this week when Parler moved its domain name to Sammamish-based web-hosting company Epik.

Amazon Web Services kicked the controversial social media site off of its servers last weekend after some of its users called for violence against the government prior to the storming of the U.S. Capitol.

Parler May Have New Host

After Amazon suspended Parler’s web hosting account following the Capitol protests, the conservative-leaning social network may have landed a new home with Epik. But whether the app will come back online remains unknown.

The alternative social media app registered its domain with Epik on Monday, according to public records. Epik, a domain registrar and web hosting service indicated in a statement it had no communications with Parler prior to the move. 

Despite possibly having a new hosting platform, in a Wednesday interview with Reuters, Parler CEO John Matze said he didn’t know when or if the service would return.

“It could be never,” Matze said. “We don’t know yet.”

Parler, the conservative social media alternative platform, has reportedly found a new web host after being dumped by Amazon’s service over the weekend.
