Once upgraded, you can then find a decent shared hosting provider.

The problem with using shared hosting with old MySQL is that the server likely hasn’t been updated in ages, leaving many security concerns. Almost all decent providers use recent versions of MySQL.

This is one of the few situations where I would recommend a user go with a VPS – where they can run their own version of MySQL. That is – if they are intent on not upgrading the installation and want to keep it live.

If they just want to be able to upgrade – your suggestion of using XAMPP may work -…

The Dump Bar & Grill In Cambria Hosting Dump Run Saturday

(Cambria) The Dump Bar & Grill in Cambria is hosting the 20th annual Dump Run starting at 9am Saturday with proceeds going to various local organizations, the Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Sign-up opens for the ride starting at 9:00am and is $20 per participant. The ride is open to cars, motorcycles, and ATV/UTV’s.

The Dump Bar and Grill owner Jack Jones recently shared the inspiration behind the charity event.

“Well, it started; I acquired the bar in 2003. November of 2004, I lost a classmate to cancer and then in December [of 2004] I lost my mother to cancer. So, at that point I decided to do something in memory of those two. The following year I organized The Dump Run.”
