Technical Needs

The complexity of your site will determine what web hosting features you need. You may be running a site using a specialized programming language, and not all hosts can meet these needs equally.

Almost all hosts will support PHP and WordPress. However, if you have a need for your site to run Joomla, Drupal, or other open-source software (OSS), you’ll need to ensure the host can provide this service.

Both offer a range of features to suit every website builder (opens in new tab), from low-end servers for beginners all the way up to high-powered corporate solutions at an affordable price point. With over five million websites hosted by each company alone, it’s an indication that they are doing something right – but which one will best serve your needs?

While these web hosts share many similarities, they do have some key differences.

Last year, Limp Bizkit released their new album Still Sucks on Halloween and this year, singer Fred Durst will be hosting a Halloween party on a boat, which has been dubbed Freddy D’s House Party of Horrors.

On August 29, Microsoft went public with promised cloud outsourcing and hosting changes which officials first outlined earlier this year. These changes, which will take effect on October 1, 2022, still don’t address some of the core customer and partner complaints which led to Microsoft revising its policies in these areas.

Microsoft introduced outsourcing restriction in 2019 that resulted in customers paying more to run Microsoft software in non-Microsoft cloud environments. Customers who had been using AWS and Google Cloud as dedicated hosts for running Windows Server and clients were affected directly, but some of them didn’t realize the extent of the impact until their contracts with Microsoft were up for renewal this year.
