Holly’s House Hosting Safety Fair For Children Saturday

A local organization dedicated to assisting victims of child abuse is hosting an event this weekend to help kids recognize and prevent abuse.
Holly’s House is hosting the safety and awareness fair Saturday September 18 from 1:00 to 4:00 at 750 North Park Drive in Evansville.
The event will feature touch a fire truck exhibit, free snacks, games and activities. There will also be information booths educating kids about various topics to keep them safe.
Other partners in the event include the Evansville Public Library, Soothing Stripes Project, and other partners. In addition to EFP, EPD and EMS, there will also be food trucks selling food during the event.

City of Amarillo hosting virtual open house for the Amarillo Area Regional Multimodal Mobility Plan | KAMR

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) —The Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center, which is part of the Amarillo VA Health Care System, will hold its first-ever COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Monday.

This COVID-19 vaccination clinic will offer 200 appointments available to Veterans over age 65.  In addition to administering the first vaccination on MLK Day, the AVAHCS will schedule Veterans for their second vaccination on Presidents Day.

The AVAHCS began vaccinating its Community Living Center (long-term care facility) Veterans and employees on December 23, 2020.

The Moderna vaccine was 94 percent effective in clinical trials in preventing COVID-19 disease. The vaccine is administered in two doses, 28 days apart. The side effects appear similar to those of other vaccines and are…
