Compton native Kevin Bludso, a James Beard award-winning cookbook author and owner of Bludso’s BBQs (which just opened a takeout and delivery location in Van Nuys on June 15), will host his first barbecue festival on July 26 and 27. Called Smoking Out The Hub, the festival will be held at Compton Airport with a national lineup of pitmasters, food vendors, and a competition featuring local barbecue contenders.

Demonstrations from Zef BBQ’s Logan Sandoval, Netflix American Barbecue Showdown contestant Rasheed Philips, and more will take place, along with food from Moos Craft Barbecue, Austin’s Distant Relatives, Dulan’s Soul Food, and the Goat Mafia. Top chipmaker Nexperia suffered a ransomware attack last month which saw threat actors get away with a terabyte of sensitive corporate data. 

“Nexperia has become aware that an unauthorized third party accessed certain Nexperia IT servers in March 2024,” the company said in a statement shared with BleepingComputer. “We promptly took action and disconnected the affected systems from the internet to contain the incident and implemented extensive mitigation.”

On Friday March 29, Microsoft employee Andres Freund shared that he had found odd symptoms in the xz package on Debian installations. Freund noticed that ssh login was requiring a lot of CPU and decided to investigate leading to the discovery.

The vulnerability has received the maximum security ratings with a CVS score of 10 and a Red Hat Product Security critical impact rating.
