An image circulating on social media claims to show US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris’s communist party membership card. But the picture is fake and was likely created using an online communist party card generator.

One post on X, formerly Twitter, has been viewed more than 60,000 times and is captioned “Communist Party Kamala? Say it ain’t so Joe.” The image includes some printed text claiming Ms Harris received the Communist Party of the Soviet Union ‘document’ in 1984, and that the New York Times reported on the communist party credential. The picture has also been shared on Facebook.

An altered image appearing to show American Vice President Kamala Harris with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein is circulating on social media. In recent days, President Joe Biden announced he was dropping out of the US election race and endorsed Ms Harris to take his place as the Democratic Party’s nominee. 

The picture appears to show Ms Harris smiling and standing next to Epstein. But the image has been edited to include Epstein’s face. 

Using Google Lens, Full Fact was able to find the same photo being debunked almost three years ago by AFP.

The original photo, which is much clearer than the edited version, shows Ms Harris with her husband, Douglas Emhoff, at a black tie event in 2015.

An image has been shared on social media with the caption: “Muslims pay tribute to Keir Starmer outside Number 10,” but this is not a genuine photo. 

The image supposedly shows rows of people on prayer mats outside Number 10 Downing Street with the suggestion this is related to Sir Keir Starmer being elected as the UK Prime Minister following the election on 4 July. 

The image was shared both before and after the general election took place.

However, there are multiple visual clues that suggest the image is inauthentic, and most likely created using artificial intelligence (AI).

An image supposedly showing former US president Donald Trump sitting with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and a young girl was almost certainly created using Artificial Intelligence (AI). 

The picture has been shared across Threads, and over 7,200 times on X (formerly known as Twitter) in recent days.

Where does the image come from?

There are several clues in the picture which indicate it was likely generated using AI tools, especially in the slightly larger version that shows more of the ‘background’. These include Mr Trump only appearing to have one leg, while Epstein seems to have neither of his legs and looks like he is emerging from the sofa.

An altered image that appears to show Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer sitting next to Jimmy Savile is circulating again on Facebook in the run up to the general election. 

The photo shows Mr Starmer sitting on a chair beside serial sex abuser Jimmy Savile. Shadow international development secretary Lisa Nandy is also visible. 

However, as we have reported before, the image has been edited to include Savile’s face. 

The original photo was posted by shadow chancellor, Rachel Reeves in December 2022 and shows a group of people—including Ms Reeves, Ms Nandy and the Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin watching an England football World Cup match.
