Meta is bringing more Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook features with its latest big thing: Meta AI. They have announced that Meta AI can now be used in 22 countries, with new languages it supports. This tool was created to help users with questions, tips and assistance with tasks using the latest Llama 405B model. Zuckerberg shared, “In addition to having significantly better cost/performance relative to closed models, the fact that the 405B model is open will make it the best choice for fine-tuning and distilling smaller models.”

Midjourney ‘Character Reference’ Feature Aims for Consistency Across AI Images

The Midjourney 6 AI image generator, which is currently in alpha and operates through Discord, has released a new “character reference” feature that allows users to effectively use a single character across different images, the Midjourney team shared on Monday night.

This means users can add one or more web URL links or upload character images and the AI can incorporate that character along with the rest of a prompt to generate custom content based on that character reference.

But Midjourney says the new feature, also known as “cref,” is best for characters created by the AI itself. This new feature is similar to Midjourney’s existing “style reference” feature.

“It’s not designed for real people/photos,” a Midjourney Discord admin wrote in the announcement post, adding that doing…

Images falsely claim to show Titanic sub debris

Hundreds of people have shared a Facebook post with the caption “Here are images of the Debris found of the Titanic Submarine” alongside a picture of a pair of shoes and a sea creature on the ocean floor and other pictures of what appears to be a wrecked vessel on the seabed.

The pictures have emerged following confirmation from authorities that the Titan tourist submersible, which went missing during an expedition to the Titanic shipwreck, had imploded, killing all five on board.

But the image of the shoes does not show debris of the submersible—it was actually taken at the Titanic site almost 20 years ago.

The image appears on the photography website Alamy, with the caption: “This 2004 image provided by the University of Rhode Island’s Institute for…

NHS junior doctor jailed for running dark web site hosting child sex abuse images – South London News

A NHS junior doctor has been jailed for his role in running a dark web chat site that hosted indecent images of children.

Kabir Garg, 33, of Station Road, Lewisham, held an account on a dark website which allows users to share links to indecent images of children and provides message boards to discuss them.

“Moderators” of the site actively encourage users to interact, rewarding them with additional access and benefits.

Today, at Woolwich Crown Court, Garg was jailed for six years.

Between May 2021 and November 2022, Garg, who worked as a psychiatrist for the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, facilitated the sexual exploitation of children by acting as a moderator of the site.
