Intel to build elaborate ‘mega-lab’ to trial new cooling technologies

Intel is set to pump $700 million into a new ‘mega-lab’ focused on building next-generation immersion liquid cooling technology.

The 200,000-square-foot building will begin construction later this year at the company’s Jones Farm campus in Hillsboro, Oregon, with its opening expected in late 2023.

Amazon takes on AMD, Intel with powerful Arm-based Graviton3 CPU

Amazon Web Services has announced new instances for EC2 in the shape of the C7g. 

Announced at the company’s AWS re:Invent event, the new instances will be powered by its newest processor, the Graviton3, which is aimed at what AWS labels as, compute-intensive workloads: HPC, batch processing, electronic design automation (EDA), media encoding, scientific modeling, ad serving, distributed analytics, and CPU-based machine learning inferencing.

Chip giant Tachyum has launched a live production website powered by its home-brewed Prodigy processor, which can already run Artificial Intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC)  workloads.

The new website runs atop Tachyum’s software emulation system that powers a native Apache v2.4 web server on top of a native Linux kernel v5.10.
