Amnesty International has not produced posters protesting Israel’s participation in Paris Olympics – Full Fact

Posters protesting against Israel’s participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics featuring Amnesty International’s logo are circulating on social media, with one post on X (formerly Twitter) viewed more than 8,800 times. 

The images, which have also been shared hundreds of times on Facebook, show athletes wearing uniforms bearing the Israeli flag harming or threatening adults and children. 

One image shows a judo participant pinning a man down, while another shows a fencer holding a blade to a child’s neck. Another image shows an athlete pointing a gun at two young children, and one shows a swimmer holding a young girl underwater. The images include the Amnesty International logo and the hashtags #OlympicsAgainstGenocide and #BoycottGenocide.

Israel’s new web hosting rankings could boost online security worldwide

Israel’s National Cyber Directorate is trialling a new safety benchmark system for web hosting security which, if successful, could have implications worldwide.

The program demands website hosting services showcase the measures in place to keep their customers’ sensitive data secure.

How safe is your web host? Israel’s cybersecurity watchdog plans rating system

The National Cyber Directorate is proposing setting up a safety standard for providers of website hosting services, to let businesses that use their servers know how secure their data will be and choose accordingly.

Web hosting service providers allocate space on their servers for websites to store their files, so they can be available for online viewing. All websites are hosted on a server.

The idea to rank the providers stems from an incident last May in which thousands of Israeli websites were defaced at the same time, showing anti-Israel messages. When the directorate investigated the matter, it found that the hackers managed to inflict their damage by penetrating just one website hosting provider.
