The new chapter of Live has begun.

Live With Kelly and Mark, featuring Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos as co-hosts, premiered on Monday. It’s a new beginning for the long-running morning talk show, just days after Ryan Seacrest said goodbye.

The pair walked out to the newly redecorated set — featuring Live with Kelly and Mark signs and coffee mugs — holding hands. She made the new co-hosting situation official, starting the show by saying, “It’s Monday, April 17, 2023. Joining me today — and permanently, until one of us dies — is Mark Consuelos.”

The last episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan was filled with fun and somber moments as Ryan Seacrest bid farewell to his morning show family. The day was not only emotional for Seacrest but for his co-host of 6 years, Kelly Ripa. However, prior to the American Idol host celebrating his last day with laughter and tears, he and Ripa shared a special moment before the cameras started rolling. Now, the All My Children alum is opening up about the candid but inelegant message she gave her co-host before they headed onto the Live! stage one last time together.

The Live! host revealed the unexpected moment between the two co-hosts to ET as the show celebrated Seacrest’s last day. Ripa’s off-putting comment came as she and the TV host shared their final backstage message before walking out…

Ryan Seacrest made his very last Live with Kelly and Ryan on-air appearance as a co-host on April 14th after six years on the show. The media personality, 48, and Kelly Ripa, 52, both got emotional during the special moment, as the duo said a misty goodbye to the beloved hosting dynamic they shared.

Speaking to a teary-eyed Seacrest, Ripa sweetly said, “I just want to say a few words to you. It’s on behalf of myself and all of us — but mostly me. This has, without question, been the fastest six years of my life.”

She continued, “And although you and I have been friends for decades and decades, I feel like I’ve gained through this process a younger brother/ oldest son.” I am so grateful that our success together on this show has led to us developing an even closer — yet…

Then, Consuelos leans over and asks Ripa what they have planned for the day. And with a smile, the Live Wire author excitedly reveals, “Our show!” which apparently slipped the mind of the Riverdale alum. Before the promo ends, fans are treated to a sneak preview of the duo live in the studio, where they are casually talking and sitting at the infamous hosting desk.

In the comments section of the post, longtime viewers shared their excitement about the new Live with Kelly and Mark. One person wrote, “I have always wanted this to happen!!! Can’t wait,” alongside a red heart emoji. Another said, “Omg exciting!”
