Shamrocks bring longtime goalie Chad Pieper out of retirement; Sr. Tigers aim for first win of season

The Armstrong Shamrocks host the Kamloops Rattlers in Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League play tonight, Friday, May 31 (7:30 p.m., Nor-Val Sports Centre).

The Irish will start longtime, thought-to-be-retired goalie Chad Pieper between the posts this evening.

“It’s been five years since Chad played for the Shamrocks,” said Armstrong communications advisor Ryan Nitchie. “Let’s call this load management to give (starter) Connor Senn a rest. Chad has been coming out to practices, looks great, and we’re going to give him the start.”

Haddonfield boys lacrosse team hosts run dedicated to late coach

On Sunday, June 11, the Haddonfield Memorial High School Boys Lacrosse team invites the community to participate in their third annual Legacy Run in memory of Brian McDonnell. (Special to The Sun)

The Haddonfield Memorial High School boys lacrosse program will host its third annual 5K Legacy Run for Brian McDonnell Sunday, June 11, a tribute to a team coach who died in 2021. 

“This whole thing started a couple years back – a community member, father, friend to everybody, Brian McDonnell passed away, and his son’s senior class started this legacy run as a great way to get the community together,” explained Nolan Tully, a senior lacrosse player.
