which one is better for online learning

More and more classes are moving online as time goes on. In the beginning, it was only for college students. People as young as first grade can now take classes online. Google Classroom and Zoom are two of the most important competitors when it comes to hosting these classes. In general, Zoom is a video conferencing app that also lets you share files and messages. Molly Nakahara: Learning to farm in the Sierra Foothills

Every winter, managers of land-based businesses are busily creating a year-long road map to turn soil, water and sunlight into food, flowers, fiber and medicine. These dedicated business owners have one chance each year to get it right as the seasons turn. A farmer who has farmed for 20 years has only gone through this cycle of planning and producing 20 times! Even the US Department of Agriculture categorizes a farmer or rancher with fewer than 10 years of experience a beginner. Learning the craft and business of farming is no easy feat.

Fortunately, in Nevada County, a number of organizations provide learning opportunities for farmers and ranchers to improve their skills in the field and in the office. On Feb. 1, Sierra Harvest’s Farm Biz course begins. This six-week class is a…

Automatic Container Code Recognition Using Deep Learning – Web Hosting | Cloud Computing | Datacenter

Deep Learning has provided a major boost to computer vision’s already rapidly expanding reach. A lot of new applications of computer vision technologies have been implemented with Deep Learning and are now becoming a part of our daily lives.

The shipping industry in particular has started to see the enormous benefits of this technology. As shipping and trading companies process tens of thousands of containers every day, Automatic Container ID and ISO Detection in real-time is the need of the hour.

The container identification system used is an ISO format composed of a series of letters and numbers. As the terminal gates and other checkpoints handle a large number of containers, there is always a possibility that the container identification sequence has not been properly followed….

Fairness in Machine Learning Predictions

Human biases are well-documented, from tacit association tests that reveal biases we may not even be aware of, to field experiments that demonstrate how much these biases can affect outcomes. In the recent past, society has started to struggle with just how much these human biases can make their way into artificial intelligence (AI) systems, often with negative impacts.  At a time when many companies are looking to deploy AI systems across their operations, being acutely aware of those risks and working to reduce them is an urgent priority. Bias is something that we cannot avoid in life. But social bias can be manifested and magnified by artificial intelligence in perilous ways, whether it be in deciding who gets a bank loan or who is kept under surveillance.

Machine learning can…
