Mentor Public Library hosting online author talks in July

Families can enjoy free online author interviews with popular and award-winning juvenile and young-adult fiction writers this July, courtesy of Mentor Public Library.

The authors include:

• Kate DiCamillo at 2 p.m. July 9. DiCamillo is best known for her “Mercy Watson” and “Tales from Deckawoo Drive” series. She’s written more than 30 books — several of which have been turned into movies. One was even adapted into an opera. This program is designed with children in pre-kindergarten through second grade in mind. However, all ages may enjoy it, according to a news release.

• Max Brallier at 2 p.m. July 16. Brallier is the bestselling author of “The Last Kids on Earth” series. He’ll share how he came up with the different…

Ukiah Library hosting Lines and Spines Book Club July 11 on Zoom – The Ukiah Daily Journal

Ukiah Branch Library will be hosting Lines and Spines Book Club on Zoom on Thursday, July 11 from 6-7 p.m.

Lines and Spines is scheduled for the first Thursday of every month, but will be meeting July 11 because the library is closed on July 4 for the Independence Day holiday. The July 11 book will be “Just As I Am” by Cicely Tyson.

Sherrod Library hosting dead week events


As the end of the semester quickly approaches, ETSU students gear up for finals during the dead week. To help students during this time, Sherrod Library is hosting stress-relief events.  

Outreach and Distance Library Coordinator Jonathan Wilson shared the week is one of his favorites because it allows the library to give appreciation back to the students. “It’s a high anxiety part of the year,” said Wilson, “It’s our job to make that a little bit less stressful for you.” 

The week began with graduation cap decorating and rock painting in the University Commons from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, April 22. Board games were set up from 12 to 4 p.m. and popcorn…

Mentor Public Library hosting talk on Civil War female spies – News-Herald

Discover the stories of Southern women who spied for the Confederacy during the newest Leaders and Legacies of the Civil War lecture at noon, March 13 at Mentor Public Library’s Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Ave.

Michelle Seddon of James A. National Garfield Historic Site will explain how these women gathered intelligence, shared that information with Confederate leaders, and what happened to them after the war.

How to Delete Your Shared Library on iPhone

As a creator of an iCloud Shared Photo Library, you have the privilege to delete your Shared Library at any time. This can be beneficial when you no longer want to share your pictures and videos with the current participants or when you want to open a new Shared Library with a different set of people. When deleting a library you created, you can choose to either move all of the library’s content into your Personal Library or only move the content you added to it.

All participants in the library will receive a notification when the creator deletes the Shared Library and they’ll be able to access all of the shared assets as long as they have been part of the group for over 7 days.
