A right-wing Australian TV host’s tirade against Bud Light has gone viral on social media amid the beer brand’s ongoing backlash.

In early April, transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney shared a video on Instagram in which she explained that Bud Light had sent her a beer can with her face on it to commemorate 365 days of her living as a woman. Mulvaney’s Days of Girlhood video series, which charts her first year of transitioning, has been a viral success.

The partnership drew condemnation from a number of conservative social-media users, who issued calls for a boycott. Musician Kid Rock shared footage of himself opening fire on a stack of Bud Light cans, a move that was copied by model Bri Teresi as she took aim at a range of brands.

First Light Missions hosting Stone Soup event

Apr. 22—GOSHEN — First Light Mission will be hosting a Stone Soup event in place of its annual Empty Bowl. The event will take place at Silverwood Mennonite Church, 1745 W. Lincoln Ave., Goshen on May 6 from 4-8 p.m. The cost is $15 per person.

Executive Director Mindy Morehead shared that there will still be collaboration with the Goshen Clay Artist Guild on this event.

“We want to let everyone know that we have been working with Goshen Clay Artist Guild to make the Empty Bowl happen again and we are excited to announce that the Empty Bowl will be back fully in the spring of 2024,” she said.

She said that there is a lot of appreciation for all the hard work and dedication that the Goshen Clay Artist Guild has put into this event for many years.

Lutheran Church of Hope hosting Christmas light show for 2nd straight year

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Last year for the holidays people had to find makeshift ways to celebrate. Gathering indoors proved difficult with surging coronavirus cases and deaths, so a local church decided to gather people outside while staying safe.

The Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines put on a makeshift light show in the parking lot for families to come and drive through. The show received overwhelming support, so much so that the church is hosting a light show again this year.

“Last year’s Christmas we didn’t have anything that people could come to indoors,” said Jeremy Johnson, a pastor at the Lutheran Church of Hope. “So we started it last year, but it was such a success we couldn’t not bring it back this year.”
