Eugene Levy and his son Dan Levy continue to make Emmy history. Four years ago, their comedy series “Schitt’s Creek” won a staggering nine Emmys including best comedy series, actor, actress, supporting actors, writing and directing. Even before “Schitt’s Creek,” Eugene was no stranger to the Emmy universe, winning statutes in 1982 and 1983 as a writer on the beloved “SCTV.”  In fact, Dan was just a month old when his dad received his second honor.

New app allows you to send text, audio and video messages to loved ones after you die

Psychic mediums performing séances are what people normally visualize when they think about receiving messages from the dead, but in 2024, all they need is their cell phone or computer.

Eternal Applications, a web hosting company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, launched an “after-life messaging platform” on Thursday that allows people to create personalized messages that will be delivered to family and friends after they die.

People will be able to use “easy-to-use-text, video and audio tools” to record and send messages, Eternal Applications said in a news release.

The company aims to provide “peace of mind to users” who want their legacy, wisdom or life stories shared and remembered, according to the release.

Day dedicated to NC families with missing loved ones

Friday is Missing Persons Awareness Day, as proclaimed by North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been reported missing across the U.S. in what’s been called a silent mass disaster. Now, for the first time in North Carolina, there will be a day dedicated to helping families with missing loved ones.

The State Bureau of Investigation and RTI International, a nonprofit research institute in Durham, are hosting “Missing in North Carolina Day” to connect families, law enforcement, the medical examiner’s office and various agencies working to find missing loved ones.
