Things are already heating up online before the new season of Love Island USA even premieres. The show’s new host for Season 6, Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix, fired back at a Love Island fan who posted their thoughts about her taking over the hosting duties for the show. 

In a teaser for Love Island USA on Peacock’s Instagram page, Madix receives that oh so famous text, which references how Islanders communicate on the show, except this one reads, “Ariana Madix, will you host Peacock’s new Love Island USA?” She responds with a cheerful, “Yes!”

Ariana Madix is firing back at a Love Island fan who had some words to say about her new hosting gig.

“You are no Maya [Jama],” one user wrote on Madix and Peacock’s joint Instagram post teasing the new season of Love Island USA, referring to the host of the U.K.’s Love Island.

“That’s obvious, dear,” Madix, 38, replied. “I could never be nor am i trying to be the queen that is maya jama. and guess what? it would be weird if i did. i am me and i am going to bring my best self to my dream hosting job doing what i do best: BE MYSELF. have a good day.”

Ariana Madix has landed another big gig. The “Dancing With the Stars”  season 32 finalist will replace Sarah Hyland as the host for the summer-long reality show, “Love Island USA,”  according to TMZ.

Hyland was the host of the Peacock reality show for two seasons, but on March 28, 2024, she confirmed on her Instagram story, “It is in fact true that I will not be returning to the island this summer. I have committed to an exciting project, that will be announced soon, that conflicts directly with the shooting dates for Love Island USA.”

The Vanderpump Rules star’s projects since Scandoval keep tallying up, as Peacock has officially announced her as the new host of the U.S. version of the hit reality show. 

Madix’s stint will begin with the upcoming season 6, which airs exclusively on the streaming platform this summer. Vanderpump Rules stars Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval are still living together after their contentious split — and it’s getting awkward.

During a sneak peek of episode 2 of the Bravo series’ 11th season, which will air in full on Tuesday, February 6, Sandoval, 41, decides he wants to host a birthday party for himself at the exes’ shared home in Los Angeles.
