‘Jeopardy!’ Host Ken Jennings Reveals What He Does ‘When Mayim Is Hosting’

Jeopardy! co-host Ken Jennings had a hilarious response when asked what he gets up to when it’s not his turn to host the iconic quiz show.

For the past year, former champion Jennings and actress and actor Mayim Bialik have shared hosting duties on Jeopardy!. Veteran Jeopardy! frontman Alex Trebek died from pancreatic cancer in 2020.

It was recently revealed Jennings will be back hosting the syndicated episodes of the show from March 10 until April 28. Then Bialik will take over again on May 1 and host through to the summer.

‘Stop trying to make Mayim happen’

I’ll take “Unhappy Fans” for 100.

The “Jeopardy!” hosting schedule was announced on Monday’s “Inside Jeopardy!” podcast — and viewers are seething about the decision-making.

“Ken Jennings will be back on March 10, and then he will continue the rest of his syndicated run, which will take us through April 28,” producer Sarah Foss shared. “Then Mayim [Bialik] will take over on May 1, and she’ll take us all the way through the summer.”

Fans appeared divided on the splitting of the hosting duties.

“Celebrity Jeopardy!” — hosted by Bialik — wrapped its run of prime-time episodes on Feb. 2. Bialik is also hosting the “High School Reunion Tournament” special, which finishes airing March 9.

Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik slammed by Jeopardy fans in first clip of hosting duty

As Ken Jennings takes a hiatus from Jeopardy hosting duties, The Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik is set for a short stint in the hot seat for the three-week long High School Reunion Tournament.

However, unfortunately for the actress, fans weren’t impressed by her first-look scenes – which doesn’t bode well with rumours she’s set to stick around for the rest of the quiz show’s current season.

Mayim, 47, looked smart in a chic light blazer and dark shirt combination in the teaser clip for her new role.

In the video shared to the show’s Instagram, Mayim is seen taking up regular hosting duties for the first time in five months as regular host Ken, 48, takes a break.

The 14-part series sees 27 former Teen Tournament contestants from 2019 battle it out again.

After eight months of guest hosts, Jeopardy! finally has a permanent replacement for the late Alex Trebek. Game show veteran and current Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune executive producer Mike Richards will fill the role when the syndicated series’ 38th season begins later this year. The producers have also hired neuroscientist and The Big Bang Theory actor Mayim Bialik, who guest-hosted earlier this year, as the host of a new prime-time version of the series as well as upcoming championship specials.

“We are thrilled to begin the next chapter of America’s Favorite Quiz Show with Mike hosting our daily show and Mayim hosting new versions of Jeopardy!,” said Ravi Ahuja, chairman of global television studios and corporate development for Sony Pictures, in a news release. “We…
