Last week, Mayim Bialik dropped the news that she will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy! where she shared hosting duties with Ken Jennings. While Jennings predominantly hosted the episodes, Bialik filled in as needed. That is no longer the case.

According to Bialik, the decision was made by Sony Pictures Television, who informed her of the decision heading into the holiday break. “I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a primetime Emmy for hosting this year and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Jeopardy! family,” Bialik wrote on Instagram.

After the news of Bialik’s departure hit, speculation began spreading that she was fired for refusing to host episodes during the writers’ strike. According to new report…

bitchy | Mayim Bialik will no longer be hosting Jeopardy, Ken Jennings is the permanent host

If you thought (like I did) that we were finished with Jeopardy host shenanigans, then you (and I) were mistaken. Mayim Bialik had one week left of filming Jeopardy’s 39th season when the writers strike began in May. Since Jeopardy had WGA members, Mayim decided to show solidarity and did not film that final week. Ken Jennings, her alternating co-host, stepped in to finish Season 39. Some argued that it was not a direct scab since the material had been written before the strike was called. Mayim hasn’t been back to host since. So this weekend’s official announcement feels like late confirmation of what’s already been in effect for half a year: Mayim Bialik will not be back, Ken Jennings will handle all hosting duties on his own.

After Mayim Bialik Confirmed She Isn’t Returning To Jeopardy, A Lot Of Fans Are Saying The Same Thing

Just over three years after Alex Trebek passed away, Jeopardy! has returned to having just one permanent host. Mayim Bialik skipped the final week of Season 39 to stand in solidarity with the striking writers, and it was announced last week that she will not be returning to Jeopardy! Continuity is the reason Sony gave for making the decision to move forward with Ken Jennings as the sole host of the syndicated episodes, and it looks like a lot of the game show’s fans are having the same response.

Ken Jennings and The Big Bang Theory alum shared hosting duties in Seasons 38 and 39, and while we suspected it might be longer than we thought before Bialik was able to return to the Alex Trebek Stage after the strikes, it turns out she has already seen her final game as a permanent host….

Mayim Bialik out as Jeopardy! host; Ken Jennings takes sole duties

Mayim Bialik, who had co-hosting duties on Jeopardy! since 2021, announced her departure on social media, making way for Ken Jennings.

Mayim Bialik Jeopardy

I’ll take Jeopardy! hosts that didn’t make the cut, Ken… Mayim Bialik, who shared hosting duties of the iconic answer-and-question game show since 2021, is officially out, leaving Ken Jennings as the sole host.

In an Instagram post over the weekend, Mayim Bialik announced, “As the holiday break begins in Hollywood, I have some Jeopardy! news. Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!.” She noted that she continues to be grateful for being nominated for the inaugural Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Host for a Game Show – with Jennings also competing, no less. She also thanked those who…
