Dear Eric: I’m in my mid-60’s and did not grow up using social media. Honestly, I find it silly to think anyone would care about my daily activities and dining options. Thus, I stay off all of the platforms. Most of my friends are on the primary social media platforms such as Facebook and X.

In the past I have hosted exclusive, invite-only, parties at my house. Modesty aside, some of these parties are rather nice with catered food and high-end wines. On numerous occasions, a few days after the parties, I hear from some of the people who were not invited. “Well, I saw on Facebook that you had a party. Why wasn’t I invited?”

Is Twitter/X down? Users report issues with social media app

A huge spike in reports of the app and website being down emerged at around 3.30pm today (Saturday, September 7) on Downdetector.

More than 2,000 reports have been made at the time of writing.

Many shared that they were having issues with their timeline and posts loading.

Despite the issues, some people were still able to post on X, with one person sharing: “my twitter is broken, it’s not letting me see any tweets.”

Another put: “is it just me or is twitter down” with thousands of others sharing similar comments on the site.

Donald Trump threatened to imprison Mark Zuckerburg after he banned Trump off Facebook following the January 6 riots. Trump shared that he will “pursue election fraudsters at levels never seen before” and that they will be sent to prison for “long periods of time” once he is elected president, Dazed reports.
