MINEOLA, Texas (KLTV) – The hearts of many East Texans are with the citizens of Ukraine, and a longtime venue in Mineola is giving people a way to express that on Tuesday night.

Doors open at 6:45 pm and the performance starts at 7:30pm. Historic Select Theater is also collecting donations to donate to Ukraine. Waltham Group hosted its recruitment night on Thursday, Jan. 27. The event was held both in-person in the Sherman Function Hall and virtually on Zoom, where coordinators from each of the Waltham Group programs explained their volunteer opportunities.

Waltham Group is an umbrella organization to 20 different student-led volunteer programs, which fall under the categories of “Health and Human Services,” “Mentoring and Tutoring,” “Housing, Environment, and Advocacy,” and “After School Programs.”

During the recruitment event on Zoom, students had the opportunity to join breakout rooms based on each category of community service where coordinators presented information on their programs and answered questions.

Saturday Night Live returns tonight with another brand new episode, the third in as many weeks. So who will SNL fans see take the stage as tonight’s host?

Last week, Will Forte became the latest ex-cast member to take a turn as host. The MacGruber star also became the 10th first-time host SNL has used so far in season 47.

That trend will continue with number 11 tonight. Willem Dafoe makes his Saturday Night Live debut as the night’s host. He’ll be joined by musical guest Katy Perry, making her first appearance on SNL since 2017.

It seemed like Will Forte never looked back once he departed Saturday Night Live more than a decade ago, but that changes with his upcoming hosting debut. NBC has announced that the MacGruber star will be hosting the Jan. 22 edition of the sketch comedy series with Måneskin serving as the musical guest. This also marks Måneskin’s first appearance on the program.

Longtime viewers of Saturday Night Live will remember that Forte spent many years as one of the show’s funniest performers. He came onto the series in 2002 and spent about eight years there, ultimately walking away in 2010. Forte’s MacGruber character is what he is particularly known for from his SNL run, and it’s a role that he’s revisiting on Peacock.

BREWER, Maine (WABI) – An organization dedicated to helping local veterans is putting on a benefit night and concert Friday to keep those who served warm this winter.

Mad Kat and Company in Brewer is hosting a night of rock and roll to benefit the Garry Owen House.

There will be live entertainment, raffles, and door prizes.

The Garry Owen House in Montville provides a place to stay and other resources for veterans.

All proceeds from Friday night’s event go toward the veterans heating fund.

Members say you never know how many veterans may need assistance, and the community in Brewer is more than willing to contribute.

“Ten minutes ago, someone donated $1,000 to this event,” said Crow Fleming of Garry Owen MC. “It’s all about the vets, we love our vets.”
