How to update your Palworld server to the latest update

Palworld servers can be a pain to operate, whether you’re using the official servers or hosting your own to bring friends into a private world. If you plan to use your own server, you need to know how to set it up and update it to retain access once a new update goes live.

If you don’t want to join a public Palworld server due to preference or concerns over cheaters and exploits being abused, you can set up a dedicated server on your own. This process is a bit tricky, however, as it requires the use of either a third-party program or knowing how to use your PC as the hosting service. You also need to know how to upkeep that server yourself, which can be a pain on its own if you aren’t well-versed in hosting duties.

If you’ve been trying to jump into a game of Palworld with your friends, you might have run into a new error saying “the match you are trying to join is running on an incompatible version.”

This new notice will only appear when you try to join a fellow explorer in a co-op playthrough or on a dedicated server with a handful of others, and there aren’t many instructions given by the game besides needing to upgrade your game version.

There is, however, one specific solution that you and your friends can try to remedy this problem so you can get back to building your base and capturing Pals across the islands.

Nexus Mods “not comfortable” hosting Palworld Pokémon mods due to potential Nintendo legal action

Nexus Mods – one of the biggest modding sites on the internet – has confirmed it won’t be hosting Pokémon-themed Palworld mods, saying doing so would “almost certainly… put us at risk of legal action” given Nintendo’s history of litigiousness.

Palworld’s big hook, of course, is the Pokémon-like Pals that roam its open world, all of which can be caught (in a very Pokémon-like manner) to assist in exploration and survival. The sometimes startling similarity between Pals and Pokémon’s creature designs has been a major talking point since its early access launch, and it was inevitable modders would begin swapping out Palworld’s derivative creatures for the real thing.

It took mere days for the first Palworld Pokémon mod to arrive, and quick as you like,…
