PCB Asks For Written Proof From BCCI Over Indian Government’s Refusal To Travel To Pakistan, Claims Report

Champions Trophy 2025: The Pakistan Cricket Board wants the BCCI to provide written proof of the Indian government’s denial of permission in case the team refuses to come here for next year’s Champions Trophy citing a travel ban on security grounds, a PCB source has said.

The host Board also wants the matter to be sorted as soon as possible, given that the tournament is scheduled for February-March.

While the ICC annual conference will be held in Colombo on July 19 and doesn’t have any discussion on the ‘Hybrid Model’ about India playing their games in the UAE on its agenda, the global body as usual has earmarked additional funds in case it becomes a two-country tournament.

“If the Indian government declines permission, it has to be in writing and it is mandatory on…

PCB proposes February 19 start for Champions Trophy 2025, rejects hybrid model for India’s matches | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has put forward a proposal for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to commence on February 19 and be hosted entirely in Pakistan. The PCB has firmly rejected the idea of a hybrid model for India’s matches, similar to the arrangement made for the Asia Cup 2023.
According to the PCB’s proposed schedule, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will span from February 19 to March 9, 2025, with all matches taking place in three major Pakistani cities: Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.
Sources within the PCB have revealed that International Cricket Council (ICC) officials, who recently visited Pakistan to assess the preparations for the tournament, have expressed their satisfaction with the arrangements in place.
Notably, the PCB has taken a strong stance against the…

Lahore, Rawalpindi among three venues PCB proposes for 2025 Champions Trophy at home

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has proposed three venues – Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi, in the initial draft shared with the ICC for hosting the 2025 Champions Trophy. The tournament, scheduled for the mid-February-March window next year, will see the return of an ICC tournament to Pakistan after a gap of nearly 30 years.

The Men in Green are defending champions, having last won against arch-rivals India in 2017. Although the ICC had then decided to scrap this tournament, they brought it back in 2022, including it in the new rights cycle (2023-27), with Pakistan getting the hosting rights.

The 2025 Champions Trophy will be an eight-team tournament played across two weeks, the exact dates of which are not revealed yet. The hosts – the PCB, had finalised the venues and the…
