Kinbridge Community Association hosting newcomer picnic

The Kinbridge Community Association, in partnership with the City of Cambridge, is celebrating Welcoming Week with a free picnic.

On Sept. 14, newcomers can gather for food, drinks and family-friendly activities at 200 Christopher Dr. in Galt.

Booths will also be set up with information on programs and services that are accessible within the city.

Welcoming Week is an annual campaign that was launched in 2012 by the organization Welcoming America.

The campaign serves as an opportunity for residents to come together and form connections in an effort to create an inclusive community.

This year, Welcoming Week runs from Sept. 13 to 22.

The picnic begins at 11 a.m. and wraps up at 2 p.m.

Telus Barrie community ambassadors hosting free picnic dinner

The Telus Barrie community ambassadors are holding a free picnic dinner June 14.

The event will take place at Trinity Anglican Church, 24 Collier St., from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Anyone who could use a free meal is welcome to attend. Deli sandwiches provided by Fox’s Bakery, as well as drinks, cookies and personal items will be available.

Community Cat Companions hosting Picnic with a Purrpose – News-Herald

Community Cat Companions will host Picnic with a Purrpose from 5 to 8 p.m. May 20 at the Fairport Harbor Senior Center.

Proceeds will benefit Lake County & Ashtabula Community Cats groups.

Tickets are $35 ($30 designated driver) and include a buffet-style picnic dinner with classic picnic foods, beer, wine and a variety of soft drinks, and dessert bar. Also, $5 from each ticket purchased goes to the groups’ Education and Research Fund.

Entertainment includes a variety of raffles, games, goodie bags and more.

Tickets purchased before May 13 are entered into a special drawing for a gift basket valued at $150.
