Ryan Tubridy fans in overdrive as he starts ‘new series’ and is pictured with Piers Morgan

Fans of Ryan Tubridy have been sent into overdrive as the former RTE presenter started a ‘new series’ on Instagram.

Tubridy, who will not return to RTE after the recent payments scandal, has taken to social media with a new endeavour and it’s already going down well with fans.

The former Late Late and RTE Radio 1 host has always been a noted lover of books and often gave recommendations on his much-loved morning radio show. 

He has turned that love into a new series of videos on his Instagram account where he gives book recommendations by genre.

No evidence pictured dog has really been found at different locations across the UK

A post on Facebook claims a photograph shows an unchipped dog that has been found in Watton, Norfolk. The post, which asks for help finding the owner, has been shared over 2,000 times. 

The same photo with similar text has also been shared hundreds of times in local groups for Warrington, Plymouth, Exeter, York and Lincolnshire, amongst others. 

It says: “Hello, I haven’t found the owner of this sweet girl we picked up on the road in 📍Watton. She’s really depressed and she’s not eating. We took her to the vet she’s not chipped. Please Bump this post and help me fine the owner [sic]”.

There is no evidence that the dog pictured has been found in these locations. Although Full Fact was not able to find the original source of the picture, many other posts…

Wrong man pictured in social media posts about Met Police shooting of two dogs

A number of posts on Facebook wrongly claim to have identified a Metropolitan Police officer who attended an incident in London on 7 May where two dogs were shot dead by police. These posts have been shared thousands of times

The posts, which have also appeared on Twitter, compare two images—on the left a blurry photo of a police officer holding a gun, and to the right a clearer portrait of a man. 

However these are not the same man. The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that the man facing the camera in the clearer photograph on the right-hand side of the post is not a police officer and had no involvement with the incident.
