EIGHTY young people from across Ireland are meeting for the first time to give their views as part of the new Shared Island Youth Forum.
The inaugural meeting of the forum is taking place in Dublin Castle on today, with 40 young people from the north, and 40 from the Republic.
The forum is part of the Shared Island Initiative to encourage co-operation in Ireland and build a shared future, and the young representatives, aged between 18 and 25, reflect “gender, ethnic, community, faith and other identity diversities”.
Friday’s meeting is to be attended by Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and the Republic’s higher education…
