Paris, Jul 14 (PTI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has thanked French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron for hosting a private dinner for him at the Elysee Palace here.

Modi was accorded a red-carpet welcome as he arrived in Paris on a two-day visit on Thursday. He will join Macron for the French National Day celebrations on Friday as the Guest of Honour.

“I thank President @EmmanuelMacron and Mrs. Macron for hosting me at the Élysée Palace this evening,” Modi said in a tweet and shared pictures of him with the Macrons at the palace, the official residence of the president of France.

Sourav Ganguly had an emotional reaction to the announcement of the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The marquee event will take place in India from October 5-November 19. This is the fourth time that the torunament is taking place in India after 1987, 1996, and 2011, but this is the first time as outright hosts.

The cross sign on President Zelenskyy’s shirt is the emblem of Ukraine’s armed forces and has been since 2009. There are many photos of him wearing the green t-shirt with the emblem. 

The badge Hitler appears to be wearing in the photo in the post is the iron cross—a military decoration he was often photographed wearing. He was awarded two in the First World War: both the more common second class and a first class award.
