Max Verstappen rare off-camera moment shared by FIA press conference host

Formula 1 press conference host Tom Clarkson witnessed Max Verstappen enter the room “holding his left shoulder” as he later complained about the Imola bumps, something Clarkson has “never” heard from him in F1’s ground effect era.

Verstappen was able to claim a fifth win of the season at Imola, though he was forced to work extremely hard for it, having battled back from an underwhelming run through the practice sessions to claim pole, before holding off McLaren’s Lando Norris on Grand Prix Sunday to secure the victory.

WBMS alum and Frozen star Lauren Chapman returns to host master class – The Oakland Press

Lauren Chapman, a West Bloomfield Middle School alumni, visited the school on Dec. 14, and spoke with students in the 7th- and 8th-grade musical theater class where it all began for her.

She shared how shows develop, and the difference between joining an existing cast as she did with Kinky Boots, and being part of building a show through workshops and out-of-town tryouts before bringing it to Broadway as she did with the Disney musical, “Frozen.”

Chapman attended West Bloomfield (formerly Abbott) Middle School from 2003-2005. She also attended West Bloomfield High School and went to Interlochen Center for the Arts her senior year.

Burton Coliseum tax up for renewal – American Press

Calcasieu Parish officials are encouraging voters to renew the Burton Coliseum and Agricultural Services property tax on Saturday because it helps maintain several important and widely-used facilities.

The parishwide tax, if renewed, would remain at its existing rate of 1.5 mills and be in place for 10 years, starting Jan. 1, 2023. Voters initially approved the tax in 1993 and renewed it in 2003 and 2012. The 2012 renewal received a 68 percent approval.

The tax is expected to generate roughly $3.8 million annually, with $3.1 million dedicated to the parish-owned Burton Coliseum Complex. Burton hosts more than 300 events every year, including the McNeese State University rodeo program, Louisiana High School Athletic Association championships, high school graduations and…
