Photos do not show Imran Khan voting from prison in Pakistan’s 2024 general election

Photos claiming to show Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, casting a vote from jail in the country’s recent general election have been circulating online. But the photos actually date from 2018.

Imran Khan was elected as Prime Minister in 2018 but was removed from office following a vote of no confidence in April 2022. He was sentenced to three years in prison in August 2023 on charges of corruption and was disqualified from politics for five years. He has since been handed further jail time

Several posts share a collage of two images showing Mr Khan appearing to post a vote through a ballot box. One post says: “Imran Khan has cast his vote from Adiala Jail”, a prison near Islamabad where he has reportedly been held since September 2023.

How Wolf Bishop Overcame Prison and Addiction to Launch a Career – WP Tavern

In 2005, Timothy “Wolf” Bishop was serving time in an Iowa prison for charges related to a gambling addiction.

“When I was 25, I made a bet that I could not cover,” Bishop said. “I had gambled with a local thug on a local semi-pro baseball game between the Burlington Bees and the Clinton Lumberkings. I bet on the Bees, who lost the game without even scoring.

“I did not have the $10,000 I had bet. When I told the man I owed this, he was less than happy. He put a gun to my head and told me that if I did not have his cash in one week, he would put a bullet in my brain. I had the money three days later.”

It was the crimes Bishop committed to cover that debt that got him sent to prison. Now an experienced professional, entrepreneur, and educator, who has spoken at…

‘Human cages’ in California were used by prison service

A video with over 44,000 views on TikTok appears to show large cages and claims they are “human prison cages” that local police had promised “would be destroyed by October of 2020” yet were still there in July 2021. The video is also being shared on Facebook.

The video features two sets of videos, apparently of the same cages. In the first part, the person filming is driving past the cages and someone can be heard saying the cages have toilets in them.

This footage first appeared in 2020, and false claims that the cages were “being used to hold human trafficking victims captive” was fact checked by Reuters at the time.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook in August 2020 saying it had received multiple calls about the cages stored outdoors…
