Scott Mills shared concerns over hosting Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 show before mysterious absence

Scott Mills, who is currently filling in for DJ Zoe Ball on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, previously voiced his concerns about hosting a breakfast radio programme. In the final episode of Celebrity Race Around the World, which was broadcast on Wednesday 18 September and filmed earlier this year, Scott told his husband Sam Vaughan after a very early pre-dawn start during the final leg of the race: “Remind me not to do the breakfast show.”

Scott hasn’t heeded his own advice, and is currently having to get up very early to host the Radio 2 Breakfast Show as he is filling in for regular DJ Zoe Ball, who has been absent from her show for the past five weeks. The BBC have yet to state why 53 year old Zoe is away, and Scott and fellow DJ Gaby Roslin have been filling in since 8 August.

New Radio 1 host Jamie Laing has been slammed by fans for making a dig at Jordan North while bragging about the success of his show.

The former Made In Chelsea star, 35, took over from Jordan’s Drivetime slot earlier this year and took to Instagram on Thursday to share a private company email which detailed the listener growth over the past few months.

But his post proved to be controversial by followers who deemed it was unnecessary to drag Jordan down to promote his own success.

Jordan moved to rival Capital FM to takeover the Breakfast show from Roman Kemp after 10 years at Radio 1.

Jamie shared the company email, which said: ‘Comparing the 6am to 10am time period Greg James (who’s on for most of that) has managed to grow his audience from 3.8m to 3.9m, no mean feat with…
