Picture of refugee banner wasn’t taken in France

An image widely-shared on Facebook contrasts what it claims is a photo of a pro-refugee banner at a protest in France in 2016 with a picture of recent riots in the country. 

The images have also been shared many thousands of times on Twitter

The first picture, captioned “France in 2016” shows a group of young people apparently at a march, holding a large banner which reads: “They are not dangerous, they are in danger! #refugeeswelcome”. 

But this picture wasn’t taken in France at all. It is actually from a large demonstration that took place in Brussels, Belgium, in 2015

WASHINGTON: Donald Trump said Thursday he has been indicted over his handling of classified documents after leaving office, the US ex-president’s most serious legal threat yet as he pursues a second White House term.

“The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been Indicted, seemingly over the Boxes Hoax,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform as he broke the bombshell news of a historic moment for the United States: the first time a sitting or former commander-in-chief has faced federal charges.

There was no immediate confirmation from the Justice Department.

Think tank: Refugee burden unevenly shared among Estonian municipalities | News

According to a report by the Foresight Center, the number of Ukrainian war refugees, who have registered their residence in Estonia, varies considerably among different Estonian municipalities.

The majority, or nearly two thirds of Ukrainian refugees in Estonia, are currently living in the country’s larger municipalities of Tallinn, Tartu and Pärnu. In eleven Estonian municipalities, Ukrainian refugees make up three percent or more of the population, while in 24 municipalities, less than 1 percent of the population are Ukrainian refugees.

In its analysis, the Foresight Centre took into account the size of municipalities and their capacity to provide public services. According to the report, this data can then be used as a basis for assessing which municipalities bear the greatest burden…
