Lincoln Center to host film retrospective dedicated to Sophia Loren

New York, N.Y. — Film at Lincoln Center and Cinecittà are presenting an exceptional retrospective of Sophia Loren’s work, June 7 – 13. “Sophia Loren: La Signora di Napoli” will showcase 13 films celebrating the extraordinary body of work of the legendary actress.

“I am very happy to promote this retrospective journey to celebrate Sophia Loren at Film at Lincoln Center,” said Chiara Sbarigia, president of Cinecittà. “As we review the long gallery of unforgettable characters that she has portrayed, we give back to the audience a universal talent admired by diverse generations worldwide.”

Museum of Modern Art hosts largest-ever retrospective honoring late film composer Ennio Morricone

New York, N.Y. — If you’re heading to New York City during the holiday season, you won’t want to miss a unique month-long event at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

MoMA will be hosting a retrospective dedicated to the Italian film composer Ennio Morricone, who passed away in 2020. The Oscar-winning composer collaborated with directors from all over the world, including Quentin Tarantino, John Carpenter, Brian DePalma, and Bernardo Bertolucci.

The films in the lineup span his nearly 60-year career and will feature more than 35 works with seven new digital restorations and 35mm archival prints.

Hope Arts Gallery hosting Retrospective 14 in March

The Hope Arts Gallery hosts Retrospective 14, a show dedicated to celebrating the talent of students and teachers of the Hope Art Machine.

From March 1 until March 26, the public will have a chance to view these artists’ works which will be displayed in the newly renovated Back Room Gallery.

“To allow the public to become more familiar with our members, we have created unique areas in the gallery for each artist to show their work,” said the Arts Gallery in a press release. “An artist’s biography included with each display will also give more insight into the artist and what motivates them.”
