Rocket launch video unrelated to Iran attack on Israel

A video is being shared on social media and by some news outlets with false claims it shows Iran’s attack on Israel with drones and missiles.

The night-time clip shows projectiles apparently being fired from the ground into the sky in a rapid barrage. Some versions of the footage include an emoji of Iran’s flag in the top right corner.

These claims have been shared on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube, and the video has also been included in video montages in news reports about Iran’s assault on 13 April

Video does not show rocket attack on airport in Israel

​​A video shared on multiple accounts on Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) claims to show Hamas firing rockets towards Ben Gurion International Airport, sometimes known as Tel Aviv Airport, in Israel. This is not true.

Some of the accounts sharing this video say that it shows Hamas firing rockets towards “Tel Aviv airport, Israel”. Other users have also claimed it shows Hamas firing at Israel, or have shared it with hashtags relating to Israel. The videos have been shared following conflict between Israel and Hamas over the weekend.

But this video was actually first shared online in February 2020 and allegedly shows a rocket attack in Syria.

Pokemon Go is hosting Lets GO and Team Rocket GO Takeover events next week

Pokémon Go fans are prepping up for an exciting Community Day featuring Slowpoke and its Galarian variant on March 18th. Just a few days after it’s over, trainers will be roped into another event, as Professor Willow is conducting some wild research.

Between March 21st and 29th, Niantic will host a Let’s GO! Event in Pokémon Go. Field Research will be dominated by Pansage, Pansear, and Pampour, and Shiny versions may appear in the wild for lucky individuals as well. 

A Pokémon to look out for during this event is Meltan. The only way to get your hands on this Pokémon is through Mystery Boxes. It will be granted after sending a Pokémon from Pokémon Go either to Pokémon Home or one of the Nintendo Switch titles – Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!
