Kathryn Thomas hopes to be back hosting the Rose of Tralee again with Daithi O Se this year

RTE star Kathryn Thomas has said she hopes to co-host the Rose of Tralee again with Daithi O Se this year.

Kathryn made RTE history last year as she and Daithi became the first duo to host the Kerry festival.

And while it has not yet been confirmed if the Carlow native will co host the show again this year, she said she hopes 2024 will be just as busy as last year.

She said: “I hope so. I had a great year taking on two new projects and I just loved it.

“Getting back into live television again, working with Daithi on the Rose of Tralee was amazing.”

Kathryn is currently fronting the 14th season of Operation Transformation on RTE One.

Phishing scams in S’pore rose to 5,020 cases in 2021

SINGAPORE — The number of phishing scams in Singapore jumped from 16 cases in 2017 to 5,020 last year, said Minister of State of Home Affairs Desmond Tan in Parliament on Tuesday (15 February).

Overall, there were 23,931 cases of scams reported in 2021, a four-fold jump from 5,147 cases in 2017, Tan added.

Tan was delivering the Ministerial Statement on behalf of the Home Affairs Minister on strengthening enforcement and publication education in the aftermath of the OCBC phishing scam.

St. Rose hosting prayer garden dedication Aug. 27 | Life

KANKAKEE — St. Rose of Lima Chapel has been developing an outdoor prayer garden on the west side of the church thanks to the individuals behind St. Rose Chapel Association.

The association meets monthly in order to make decisions — including indoor and outdoor beautification — for the church. Following the 6 p.m. Mass on Friday, Aug. 27, the association will be hosting a dedication ceremony for the prayer garden.

In addition to landscaping from Tholens’ Landscape & Garden Center — and work from architect Jeff Jarvis — the garden includes a cross-shaped brick walkway that is designed with personalized brick pavers.

The association has sold 199 pavers to individuals, families and organizations in 12 different states, and will continue to sell…
