Baku hosts concert dedicated to founder of Russian classical music [PHOTOS]

The Russian House in Baku has hosted a festive concert timed to
the 220th anniversary of the founder of Russian classical music
Mikhail Glinka, Azernews reports.

The event was co-organized by Baku Music Academy and the Russian
House in Baku.

Head of the Russian House in Baku Irek Zinnurov, the presenter
and curator of the event, Doctor of Philosophy in Art History,
senior lecturer of the Baku Music Academy Alena Inyakina spoke
about the historical role of Mikhail Glinka, who opened a new path
for the development of composing creativity based on the synthesis
of national traditions and achievements of European musical
culture.

HP closes Russian business, shutting website for good

HP has completely withdrawn from the Russian market in order to conform with sanctions mandated by the US in response to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The company’s local website, which has served as a home for driver downloads and technical support in Russian, has now been directed to Kazakhstan. A former Soviet state, Russian is the country’s official language and one of its two most spoken languages.

Russian president didn’t give speech warning of ‘satanic plans’ to depopulate the world

A video shared more than 15,000 times on Facebook claims to contain the contents of a speech criticising “satanic plans” to depopulate the planet, supposedly delivered by Russian president Vladimir Putin. 

The video, which has also been viewed thousands of times on TikTok, doesn’t show Mr Putin talking, but rather the audio of an unidentified person reading what is claimed to be a transcript of his speech, as part of a conversation with another unidentified person. 

In this speech, Mr Putin is alleged to address “the countries of the world” and supposedly accuses them of wanting to “deliberately reduce the world’s population by sacrificing innocent lives” and having “satanic plans to reduce the population of the planet”.

Drone Strikes Town Hosting Russian Nuclear Power Plant

A suspected Ukrainian drone has damaged a building in the western Russian region of Kursk, according to the regional governor, as the country grapples with an apparent intensification of Kyiv’s long-range strike campaign against Russian cities.

Roman Starovoit, the head of the Kursk region, wrote on Telegram on Friday that the town of Kurchatov—which is home to the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant around 25 miles west of the city of Kursk—was the subject of a “morning UAV raid.”

Initially, Starovoit reported that “Kurchatov was attacked by two Ukrainian drones,” causing damage to an “administrative building and residential building.” He added: “Experts have arrived at the scene and are assessing the extent of the damage. Details are being specified.”

Russian TASS News Agency hosts exhibition dedicated to 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev

Members of Azerbaijani delegation led by Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova have familiarized themselves with the exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev hosted by Russian TASS News Agency.

Organized outside the offices of the news agency, the exhibition featured photos highlighting the political activity of the prominent politician and statesman Heydar Aliyev in various years, large-scale projects carried out under his leadership as well as Azerbaijan-Russia relations during National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s second presidency.
