PATH Of Hustisford Hosting Mural Dedication Ceremony On Saturday

(Hustisford) PATH of Hustisford is hosting a dedication ceremony for their new mural Saturday, September 28th at 1pm. The dedication will take place at the corner of Tweedy and Lake Streets in Hustisford, outside the Nature Made Heaven Scene Soap Shop building.  

The mural was designed by local resident, Grace London and completed alongside her parents, Carrie and Nate London. In total, the mural took around 81 hours to complete. Tanya Lemke shared the mural project was a team effort.

Bowen Yang Calls ‘Sweet’ Travis Kelce His ‘Straight Male Friend for Life’ After “Saturday Night Live” Hosting Gig

Bowen Yang knows Travis Kelce is his friend for life.

The Saturday Night Live star, 33, revealed that he has stayed in touch with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end following his SNL hosting gig in March 2023. Kelce, 34, and girlfriend Taylor Swift also made a surprise appearance on the season 49 premiere last year.

“He is my straight male friend for life,” he shared in an interview with the Los Angeles Times at the 2024 Emmys. “Travis, I love you.”

The Dump Bar & Grill In Cambria Hosting Dump Run Saturday

(Cambria) The Dump Bar & Grill in Cambria is hosting the 20th annual Dump Run starting at 9am Saturday with proceeds going to various local organizations, the Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. 

Sign-up opens for the ride starting at 9:00am and is $20 per participant. The ride is open to cars, motorcycles, and ATV/UTV’s.  

The Dump Bar and Grill owner Jack Jones recently shared the inspiration behind the charity event.  

“Well, it started; I acquired the bar in 2003. November of 2004, I lost a classmate to cancer and then in December [of 2004] I lost my mother to cancer. So, at that point I decided to do something in memory of those two. The following year I organized The Dump Run.”

First Christian Church of Vallejo hosting symposium on Saturday – Times Herald Online

As part of its 125th anniversary celebration, First Christian Church of Vallejo is holding a special event titled, “Even Jesus Was a Refugee” Immigration Symposium on Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon in its Fellowship Hall.

The church is asking the public to join “for a thought-provoking event discussing the topic of immigration through the lens of faith, history, law, and economics.”

“It can be difficult to navigate through polarizing topics, especially ones that shouldn’t be polarizing! So this is a great time for you and your organization to gain knowledge of how to effectively diffuse the rhetoric and learn to treat everyone as Jesus would have,” a news release states.

GVRD hosting 80th anniversary bash on Saturday – Times Herald Online

When it comes to celebrations, the Greater Vallejo Recreation District is borrowing a line from the late artist Prince.

Let’s go crazy.

GVRD will host a free afternoon party at Blue Rock Springs Park from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday to commemorate 80 Years of Service to the community. The district was formally recognized and legally authorized in a resolution on June 14, 1944.

“We may be octogenarians now, but we still know how to party” the organization said in a news release this week.

There will be live music in the park by “The Purple Ones” a Prince tribute band that may or may not play the previously mentioned song, as well as Foreverland Band (a Michael Jackson tribute band). The event will also feature food trucks, retail vendors, a kids zone and a raffle.
