No timeline for return of access to Amazon shopping, streaming, business services :: WRAL.com

Holiday shoppers and web developers nationwide were stalled Tuesday morning when some of Amazon’s business services, including e-commerce, web hosting and Prime Video, went offline, according to DownDetector.com, which tracks connectivity issues based on customer reports.

At noon, DownDetector showed a peak of more than 25,000 reports of problems connecting to Amazon.com and 11,000 reports about outages on Amazon Web Services, which provides remote computing and cloud computing services to other businesses, including WRAL Digital. The problem was concentrated along the eastern seaboard, with Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta all showing outages.

Former Net Virtue staff launch web hosting services firm Click Host – Digital – Services

A number of former staff of Adelaide-based web hosting and domain name service provider Net Virtue has launched a new venture called Click Host.

Net Virtue in August was acquired by Nexigen Digital, the parent of hosting firm VentraIP, to boost the brand’s client base and number of services.

Two of its former employees, chief technical officer Dean Walsh and customer service Adrian Acosta founded Click Host following the acquisition. The company specialises in web hosting, managed WordPress hosting and reseller hosting for consumers ranging from personal bloggers to small and medium-sized businesses.

GoDaddy data breach hits WordPress hosting services resellers

GoDaddy says the recently disclosed data breach affecting roughly 1.2 million customers has also hit multiple Managed WordPress services resellers.

According to Dan Rice, VP of Corporate Communications at GoDaddy, the six resellers also impacted by this massive breach are tsoHostMedia Temple123RegDomain FactoryHeart Internet, and Host Europe.

GoDaddy acquired these brands after buying web hosting and cloud services companies Host Europe Group in 2017 and Media Temple in 2013.

” A small number of active and inactive Managed WordPress users at those brands were impacted by the security incident,” Rice told WordPress security firm Wordfence.
