CtrlS Datacenters on steady growth track even as managed services biz skid in FY23

Hyderabad-based CtrlS Datacenters that commenced business over 15 years ago with its first data center in its home city and provides infrastructure for dedicated hosting and co-location services to its customers recorded a strong growth in the year ended March 2023 even as one of its two units shrank in size.

The company that has nine operational data centres at four locations — Mumbai, Hyderabad, Noida and Bengaluru, grew its topline around 20% during FY23, for the third consecutive year due to rack capacity addition, better capacity utilisation and increase in lease rates.

Managed hosting and data centre services firm expands in Nottingham

Following increased demand for managed hosting and data centre services, CWCS Managed Hosting has acquired a 9,300 sq ft building in Nottingham to increase the company’s data centre footprint.

Headquartered in Nottingham, with locations throughout the UK and USA, CWCS provides 24/7/365 enterprise-grade infrastructure for mission critical data systems, websites and applications through a choice of cloud, bare metal, dedicated servers, and colocation services.

The acquisition of the new site follows extensive research and the data centre is due to be online in 2024. The announcement forms part of CWCS’s strategy to support growing demand from existing and new customers, as well as supporting the growth for current and future acquisitions.

Binance to discontinue all Naira services

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, is disabling all its Naira services from March 8 amid the company’s regulatory troubles in Nigeria, the company shared in a statement on its app. The company, which is at the centre of a crypto crackdown in the West African country, will stop naira deposits after March 5, while withdrawals will end on March 8. 

“Any remaining NGN balances in users’ Binance accounts will be automatically converted to USDT,” the exchange said in a statement on Tuesday. Binance will also delist all existing NGN spot trading pairs on March 7. The naira will be removed from the list of supported payment options on Binance Pay, the exchange’s payment solution.
