Immersive Entertainment Firm Cosm Launching Its First “Shared Reality” Venue

Cosm, a 5-year-old provider of production services for tech and media companies, is branching into physical venues.

The company announced Tuesday it will launch its first in-person site at LA’s Hollywood Park, home to SoFi Stadium and the also-soon-to-open Intuit Dome. With a capacity of 2,000, Cosm’s 65,000-square-foot venue is set to launch on June 29, hosting fans for a Saturday night of UFC fights beamed in from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. From stadium-style seats or standing vantage points, fans will be plunged into the action as it is beamed onto an 87-foot screen custom-fit to the surrounding domed structure. The screen (shown above in a rendering) is capable of displaying up to 12K resolution.

Sharing IP Addresses On Shared Servers Is Normal & Fine For Google Rankings

Google’s John Mueller for the umpteenth time said that sharing IP addresses and/or having your site on a shared server and/or using a CDN that does all of that, is fine for Google Search, SEO and ranking. In fact, he said it is “normal” for sites to do this.

John wrote on X, “There are a limited number of IP addresses, it’s normal for them to be shared.” This was in response to the concern that sharing IPs or hosting with spammy sites can hurt your SEO:

I mean, there are super rare cases where Google has banned hosts completely and wipped out a whole ccTLD of sorts. But that is super rare, which I guess is where the rumors started from.

Updated DC hardening timeline for Secure Boot, DCOM, Kerberos, Netlogon shared by Microsoft

Recently, Microsoft confirmed a major Windows Server issue when Domain Controllers (DCs) had LSASS memory leak whereby in extreme scenarios, it would lead to unscheduled reboots when undergoing Kerberos authentication requests. Fortunately, the company fixed it in a couple of days via Out-of-band updates.

Meanwhile, the company also recently updated its DC hardening timeline. On a new support document on its website, the company has removed a February 2024 entry as it was not related to hardening.
