You No Longer Need To Log In Or Sign Up To The Free ChatGPT

OpenAI recently announced on a blog post that freemium users of ChatGPT will soon be able to use the tool withoutt needing to create an account or log in to one. This is said to be a way to simplify access to AI tech.

The AI startup said; “More than 100 million people across 185 countries use ChatGPT weekly to learn something new, find creative inspiration, and get answers to their questions. Starting today, you can use ChatGPT instantly, without needing to sign-up. We’re rolling this out gradually, with the aim to make AI accessible to anyone curious about its capabilities.”

US and UK sign deal to partner on AI research

The US and UK governments have announced a partnership to advance the safety testing of AI technology.

Both nations will work together to develop tests for the most advanced AI models by sharing information, capabilities and expertise on AI, as part of the commitments made at the November 2023 AI Safety Summit.

Road sign in Yorkshire does not have Arabic translations

A photo is circulating on social media supposedly showing a road sign in Yorkshire that has been translated into Arabic. But the image has been digitally altered and is not genuine. 

Several posts on both Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) have shared the image with text saying “Islamificatiin of U.K. [sic]” and one post has been shared more than 1,000 times. 

The image shows a green road sign directing drivers to Harrogate, Leeds, Shipley and Keighley, with a separate sign for an airport. Words in Arabic appear beneath the English. 

However, this photo has been edited to include the Arabic, and has been circulating online since at least 2016

The account-sharing crackdown that Netflix announced almost a year ago and started implementing in the spring has yet to scare most account borrowers into paying up. But it probably makes business sense anyway, according to a new survey from MoffettNathanson.

That market-research firm commissioned Publishers Clearing House (yes, the company does things besides run a sweepstakes that sends giant replica checks to people’s front doors) to survey 19,000 Americans in Q3 about their usage of the video-streaming service. The first takeaway: Most Netflix viewers watch by the rules.

A full 77% of respondents say they only use their own account, while 8% sometimes lean on somebody else’s subscription (the report doesn’t get into why), and 14% only watch on other people’s accounts.
