Founder and CEO of e-commerce firm Dukaan, Suumit Shah has been facing the ire of people on social media after he shared that his company has replaced 90% of its customer care staff with an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot.
Dukaan is a DIY platform that allows merchants with zero programming experience to set up their own e-commerce store.
Criticism
Social media users criticized him for his harsh decision and his lack of empathy.
A Twitter user slammed the manner in which he announced the news of the layoffs:

British Airways, BBC and Boots Staff Hit By Russia-Linked Cyber-Hack
It has been reported that tens of thousands of British Airways, BBC and Boots staff may have had their personal details stolen following a suspected Russia-linked cyber attack. BA has written to many of its 34,000-strong workforce warning them of a “cyber security incident which has led to the disclosure of personal information about colleagues paid through British Airways’ payroll in the UK and Ireland”.
An email to BA staff – seen by the Telegraph – warns that the compromised information includes names, addresses, national insurance numbers, banking details and other information. The hack is linked to BA’s payroll provider, Zellis, and other companies that work with the company have also had their information stolen.

Former Net Virtue staff launch web hosting services firm Click Host – Digital – Services
A number of former staff of Adelaide-based web hosting and domain name service provider Net Virtue has launched a new venture called Click Host.
Net Virtue in August was acquired by Nexigen Digital, the parent of hosting firm VentraIP, to boost the brand’s client base and number of services.
Two of its former employees, chief technical officer Dean Walsh and customer service Adrian Acosta founded Click Host following the acquisition. The company specialises in web hosting, managed WordPress hosting and reseller hosting for consumers ranging from personal bloggers to small and medium-sized businesses.
