Newton’s Saddlerack in downtown Stephenville is now offering customers two unique private dining experiences.

The space, located upstairs from the restaurant and bar, can accommodate up to 50 people.

“It’s perfect for business luncheons and meetings as well as parties, classes and other celebrations,” Melanie Newton told Beneath the Surface News.

“And it’s not limited to the days we are open. It can be booked any time.”

Those looking for a more intimate gathering can book the chef’s table, an exclusive dining experience with Chef Cowboy Newton for up to 10 people.

Guests can choose to customize their four to five-course meal or order from the regular menu.

Shared Table to host donation-only concert to help tackle food insecurity | Music

It started much like any intentional gesture starts: with an act of kindness and generosity. Last fall, Ashlee Howard hosted a writer’s retreat at the Mabel Dodge Luhan Retreat Center. During one of the writing sessions, Howard hired Frederick Aragon to play the Native flute. The music and writing experience was so well-received that one of the attendees anonymously donated money for another concert.

The William Floyd United Teachers (WFUT) recently hosted another successful shared table event to help provide food for those who may need it from the community. Shared table events, which are held periodically throughout the school year, are spearheaded by the WFUT local action committee and its chairperson Karianne Garfen. The motto is “Take what you need, give what you can.” WFUT has also sponsored Little Free Libraries within the community and coat drives to help provide new and gently-used coats for those who may need them.

Every Saturday in September, West Broad Village will host The Giving Table, a food donation drive to benefit FeedMore.

The event will run noon to 5 p.m. each day, and WBV also will host “Feed the Plate,” an educational craft-based event Sept. 17 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
