Capital to host dedicated Taylor Swift radio station as Eras Tour lands in UK

Capital Radio has launched a pop-up station dedicated to all things Taylor Swift ahead of the pop superstar kicking off the UK leg of her Eras tour.

The US singer, 34, will perform for three consecutive nights at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh, from Friday before moving to Liverpool, Cardiff and London.

The new station will allow fans of the pop star, known as Swifties, the chance to listen to their favourite artist all day “until its So Long, London”.

SNP minister wanted to offer advice to French politicians on hosting Olympics and Tour de France


A prominent SNP minister was urged to offer advice to French politicians about how to host major sporting events like the Tour de France and the Olympics. Maree Todd highlighted the success of the Cycling World Championships in Scotland as the reason for this.

The Scottish Government’s sports minister headed out to Nice and Marseille in September to mark the start of the Rugby World Cup. Both those cities are twinned with Edinburgh and Glasgow respectively, and she met some local politicians while she was there.

‘No Show Like A Joe Show!’: Remembering Joe Dolan tour comes to Clare

ONE CLARE venue is to host a night of Joe Dolan’s greatest hits, as a nationwide tour is announced in his memory for 2024.

The tour, entitled ‘Remembering Joe Dolan – The Annual Joe Dolan Festival’, will come to Glòr Theatre in Ennis on March 15, 2024. Tickets are from €30 and are on sale now.

Returning for its 15th year, the anniversary tour will see Joe’s brother Ben, who shared the stage with the singer for 47 years, highlighting his late sibling’s decorated singing career. 

Ben will be joined on stage by Joe’s niece Sandra, nephews Adrian and Ray with singer Karen Carroll and members of Joe’s original backing band.

Imelda May to host walking tour remembering women of 1916 Rising

Singer and actress Imelda May is to host a walking tour of key sites associated with women who participated in the 1916 Easter Rising.

The Dublin tour, which will be delivered by historians Liz Gillis and Honor O Brolchain, also aims to raise awareness of Moore Street residents’ plan to develop a Cultural Quarter in the area.

May said she was “delighted” to host the tour on October 14.

She said: “Moore Street is a very important part of our built history and our revolutionary history.

“We want to do this on behalf of the women that were involved in the Rising and hopefully save this place from yet another developer, who it doesn’t feel like cares much for our history.

Irish media personality takes tour of Clare and lists her recommendations!

FAMOUS broadcaster, social media personality and former Miss Universe Ireland took a tour of Clare and recommended her favourite things to do, see, eat and stay. 

Rozanna ‘Roz’ Purcell recently toured the county, taking on Lahinch, Doolin, Ennistymon and Corofin. The outdoor enthusiast posted on Instagram her suggestions, which included cafés, walking trails and even glamping.
