The business magnate, Elon Musk, proclaimed his successor as the Former Head of Advertising NBCUniversal, through a tweet a few days ago.

Speaking up for the first time about her anticipated role, Linda Yaccarino exclaimed that she had been an avid supporter of Elon Musk and taken him as an inspiration.

She is now all set to transform the social media site to Musk’s vision of Twitter 2.0 from 23 June 2023, although Linda admits to not being so prolific as Musk is.

Elon Musk confirms Linda Yaccarino as new Twitter CEO

Elon Musk on Friday confirmed that Linda Yaccarino, NBC Universal’s Chairman of Global Advertising and Partnerships, will take over as the new Twitter CEO, making “it the everything app”.

“I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter! She will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design and new technology,” Musk posted in a fresh tweet.

“Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app,” he added.

Musk’s role will transition to being executive chair and CTO, “overseeing product, software and system operations”.

Yaccarino oversees about 2,000 workers in her role, similar to the current strength of Twitter staff after massive sacking by Musk following his $44 billion takeover late last year.

Parler app once hailed as conservative Twitter alternative yanked by new owners

Parler, a social media app that with low content moderation measures that catered to conservatives, will be taken down by its new owners, according to a Friday announcement. 

The app was acquired by the digital media company Starboard, formerly known as Olympic Media. Parler had been floundering after it was briefly pulled from mainstream app stores and Amazon’s web hosting service

Starboard’s announcement said that the app as it is “currently constituted will be pulled down from operation to undergo a strategic assessment.”
