Harvard students’ site helping Ukraine refugees find housing :: WRAL.com

— Two Harvard University freshmen have launched a website designed to connect people fleeing Ukraine to those in safer countries willing to take them in — and it’s generating offers of help and housing worldwide.

Moved by the plight of Ukrainian refugees desperate to escape Russian bombardment across the former Soviet republic, Marco Burstein, 18, of Los Angeles, and Avi Schiffman, 19, of Seattle, used their coding skills to create UkraineTakeShelter.com over three frenzied days in early March.

Since then, more than 18,000 prospective hosts have signed up on the site to offer assistance to refugees seeking matches with hosts in their preferred or convenient locations….

Mineola Select Theater hosting performance dedicated to Ukraine Tuesday night

MINEOLA, Texas (KLTV) – The hearts of many East Texans are with the citizens of Ukraine, and a longtime venue in Mineola is giving people a way to express that on Tuesday night.

Doors open at 6:45 pm and the performance starts at 7:30pm. Historic Select Theater is also collecting donations to donate to Ukraine. Web Hosting Provider Namecheap to Ban Russia-Based Users, Citing Ukraine

Domain and web hosting provider Namecheap is terminating all service with the company’s Russian-based users over the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine. 

“Unfortunately, due to the Russian regime’s war crimes and human rights violations in Ukraine, we will no longer be providing services to users registered in Russia,” US-based Namecheap told Russian users in an email on Monday. 

The company is asking Russian users to transfer their domains to another provider by March 6. Otherwise their sites will resolve to a 403 Forbidden page. In addition, Namecheap has begun blocking Russian clients from using the company’s web hosting and private email services over Russian internet domains, including .ru and .su.

As Russia invades Ukraine – Major impacts for Web hosting, DeFi, and all aspects of Tera and Metaverse global economies

Thirty-six hours ago, I made a post focusing on the speech of  Kenya’s Ambassador to UN Martin Kimani. In it I made a somewhat delicate plea to Vladamir Putin.
