BET has announced that Keke Palmer will host the 2023 Soul Train Awards.

The show, taking place in Los Angeles, will reimagine the traditional award show format by celebrating R&B with a soulful house party.

“BET asked your girl to host this year’s Soul Train Awards and you know it’s about to be lit,” gushed the mother of one in the official promo video. “Grown, sexy, real cute or whatever—unlike any other because I’m doing it my way,” she sang in the tune of Usher.

NBA YoungBoy Hosting Album Release Party While On House Arrest – VIBE.com

NBA YoungBoy is preparing for his forthcoming LP Don’t Try This At Home and, while he is currently under house arrest, the 23-year-old still plans to gather his rap peers, celebrities, and fans for an album release party.

Sources told TMZ Hip Hop that the event will take place on Thursday, April 20, one night before the album hits streaming platforms, at Elevate Lounge in downtown Los Angeles. The Baton Rouge, La. rapper’s team is reportedly spending $200,000 to rent the space and 50 Cent’s Branson Cognac will serve as a sponsor.

Quinta Brunson, the Emmy-winning creator and star of Abbott Elementary, will make her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live on April 1, with Lil Yatchy as the episode’s musical guest.

As Black Twitter royalty, Brunson’s debut is particularly special, with her blossoming over the years from a viral meme into an award-winning comedic phenom.

Unfortunately, the episode could coincide with a looming strike from SNL‘s post-production editors. According to Variety, the strike stemmed from the editors demanding NBCUniversal to pay them “industry standard and provide appropriate health benefits.”
